Contract Type: Permanent / 40.25 Hours Per Week
Salary: circa £41,000
Location: B69 4DA - HUB 3
Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off
Working hours: 0700-1900hrs & 1900-0700hrs

Job Description
The role of security within the business is to protect customer goods, people, and property.
The Team Leader will oversee, guide, and support a team of Security Officers and Gatehouse Operatives, ensuring the effective implementation of security protocols and procedures. This role involves allocating tasks, monitoring performance, conducting training, and serving as a primary point of contact for incidents and escalations 24/7.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Assignment of work to Security Officers to ensure peak productivity to support the prevention and identification of security-related incidents
- Ensure all security officers are carrying out tasks safely and in accordance with Security policies
- Ensure all security documentation, reports, and paperwork is completed and returned accurately and in a timely fashion during respective shifts
- Provide incident response and management across the East or West Midlands during shifts
- Conduct initial return-to-work meetings throughout shift and relay this information to the Security Hub Manager
- Manage the day-to-day operation including investigations, incidents, escalations, employee concerns, staffing, employee security-related questions
- Act in a professional manner at all times, and understand responsibilities will require confidentiality
- Conduct training with Officers or Operatives who require upskilling in their role
- Carry out tasks delegated by Hub Security Manager to assist with targets and success

Qualifications
We are looking for people who have the proven ability to lead and motivate a team of people in the Security department;
You must also have;
- Proven and demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Polite and professional at all times and have a willingness to go the ‘extra mile’
- Ability to work as a team player and on your own initiative
- Demonstrate high levels of self-motivation and initiative
- Be highly vigilant to any unscrupulous activity taking swift and appropriate action when required
- Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring, and Accountability
- Displaying a high level of integrity is crucial for this role
- Drive to take on leadership responsibilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and provide initial guidance to security colleagues surrounding on-site incidents
- Drive the day-to-day performance of the on-site security teams ensuring best practice and delivery of high standards
- Work in close partnership with colleagues and members of the security management team to support the implementation of the business security strategy
- Exhibit exemplary behaviour and ethics to your security colleagues, acting as a role model
- Committed to supporting others through training and coaching
- Flexible approach to working location within your given area
