Security Vulnerability Management Engineer

Core Duties

• Knowledge and experience of design, build, deployment and operation of Vulnerability Management applications (e.g. NESSUS) including:
  • Configuration to enable Risk based vulnerability assessment.
  • Definition of classification schemas, workflows and reports for operation.
  • Integration with other tools such as SIEM applications, Case Management and Asset Management applications.
• Experience deploying and configuring Vulnerability Management applications (e.g. NESSUS) in a performant manner on cloud and / or OnPrem.
• Deep knowledge and experience of Enterprise ICT.
• Strong understanding of security architecture, in particular networking.
• Detailed understanding of threat intelligence and threat actors, TTPs and operationalising threat intelligence.
• Understand TCP/IP component layers to identify normal and abnormal traffic
• Self-motivated to understand tools that may not have been used before, researching and testing potential solutions.
• Client-side consulting, including stakeholder engagement and the ability to communicate insights and concepts to others.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with the various stakeholders.
• Ability to talk competently and maintain high standards of behaviour with the client.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with matters of national security.
• Ability to maintain high standards and provide challenging feedback even when it will be perceived negatively.

All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
