What You'll Be Doing
Join the Education, Children and Young People Hub at the House of Commons as a Select Committee Safeguarding & Witness Support, helping committees create safe, supportive and inclusive experiences for witnesses with lived experience. Working primarily with the Justice and Home Affairs and Social Policy committee clusters, you'll provide trusted advice on welfare and safeguarding throughout the inquiry process, while supporting teams across the wider Select Committee Team.
This is a varied role at the heart of Parliament's fast-paced committee environment. You'll work directly with committee teams to:
- Identify and respond to welfare concerns
- Advise on appropriate support and signposting
- Help colleagues confidently engage with witnesses who may be vulnerable or have additional needs
You'll also:
- Develop and deliver training
- Improve guidance and resources
- Promote consistent best practice across committees
Working closely with the Safeguarding Team and colleagues across Parliament, you'll help ensure concerns are managed sensitively and promptly. It's an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while shaping how Parliament supports witnesses.

This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of you spending 40% of your time in the office.

What We're Looking For
- Safeguarding qualification at Level 3 or above, or a willingness to complete relevant training or certification.
- Experience of working within safeguarding frameworks, policies, or regulated environments.
- Able to plan and organise workload to meet tight deadlines, with the ability to adapt to tight deadlines and monitor workload to meet them.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with others, promoting inclusion at all times.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to act impartially, and to convey information clearly.
