Role Description
The Self-Employed Business Development Manager role at SyncPayments is a remote position. This role focuses on identifying and securing new business opportunities, particularly with ambitious local and regional businesses that can benefit from modern payment solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Prospecting and networking
- Conducting meetings and presentations
- Understanding client requirements
- Tailoring SyncPayments offerings to meet those needs

The Business Development Manager will manage their own pipeline, negotiate commercial terms, and support clients through onboarding to ensure a smooth transition to SyncPayments’ services. As a self-employed professional, the individual will operate with a high level of autonomy, setting their own schedule while aligning activities with SyncPayments’ growth objectives and performance targets.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within financial services, payments, or technology solutions.
- Strong skills in lead generation, networking, and relationship building, with the ability to identify and engage decision-makers in small and medium-sized businesses.
- Proficiency in conducting client meetings, delivering clear presentations, and negotiating commercial agreements that align with client needs and company goals.
- Ability to understand business processes and translate client requirements into practical payment and technology solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and customer-centric approach.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently as a self-employed partner.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including maintaining a structured sales pipeline and reporting activity accurately.
- Familiarity with digital tools and CRM systems for tracking prospects, opportunities, and client interactions.
- Knowledge of the local business landscape in Sunderland and surrounding areas is highly beneficial.
- Valid authorization to work in the UK; prior experience in a similar role or environment is preferred but not mandatory.
