Role Description
This Self-Employed Drainage Engineer role is an on-site position based in Dartford, supporting commercial clients across London, Kent, and the wider South East region. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Attending emergency call-outs
- Diagnosing drainage issues
- Carrying out drain unblocking, high-pressure water jetting, and minor repairs
- Performing CCTV drain surveys
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance visits
- Completing tasks such as drain descaling, gutter cleaning, and grease trap maintenance in line with company standards

The engineer is expected to manage their own schedule, maintain tools and equipment, complete job reports and documentation accurately, and communicate clearly with clients and the Pipeflow team. As a self-employed contractor, the individual will adhere to health and safety requirements, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and represent Pipeflow in a professional manner on client sites.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in commercial drainage work, including drain unblocking, basic repairs, and maintenance of pipework and related systems.
- Practical skills in operating high-pressure water jetting equipment, conducting CCTV drain surveys, and interpreting survey findings.
- Ability to carry out planned preventative maintenance activities such as drain descaling, gutter cleaning, and grease trap servicing.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices, safe systems of work, and relevant drainage and environmental regulations.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to clients.
- Capability to work independently as a self-employed contractor, including time management, record keeping, and job reporting.
- Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport for attending sites across London, Kent, and the South East.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in drainage, plumbing, or civil engineering are beneficial; previous experience with commercial or facilities management clients is an advantage.
