Run your own estate agency business. Keep the bulk of every fee. Earn £100,000+ a year if you put the work in.
I'm Duncan Ure, a Director at Compass Estates. I'm building a small team of highly professional, capable estate agents across Scotland, each running their own patch under our brand.
I'm not looking for people who like the idea, or who fancy giving it a go to see what happens. I'm looking for agents who know they're good, already know how to win business, and are ready to back themselves.
This isn't a job. There's no salary, no desk and no one handing you leads. It's your business, with our brand, systems and portals behind you.
What you get
- The bulk of every fee you earn, with a better split once you hit volume
- Rightmove and portal listings from day one
- Our CRM, my systems and processes to win business and the brand
- Professional photography, video and drone on every instruction, through introduced suppliers
- Your own diary. No 9am meetings, no area manager, no targets set by someone else

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
And you get me
You'll have my full support from day one: the systems I use, the marketing that wins me instructions, and practical ideas to get you off the ground and earning properly as fast as possible. You run your business, but you won't be doing it on your own.
What it takes
- You set up and run your own limited company
- You handle your own insurance, AML, redress scheme and accounts
- A monthly platform fee
- You find your own business. Valuations, instructions, viewings, chasing solicitors, holding sales together to settlement. All of it.
- A slow start. Commission takes months to come through, so you'll need savings to cover at least 6 months

On the £100,000
It's realistic for a good agent completing around five sales a month. That's real graft and it takes time to build. Do less and you'll earn less. That's the deal.
You're right for this if
- You've got 3+ years in Scottish residential sales, including valuing and listing
- You already have a network or past clients who'd come to you
- You hold yourself to a high standard and expect to be paid like it
- You're tired of earning a fraction of the fees you bring in
- You never want to request annual leave again
You're not right for this if you want a salary, a manager, someone else to generate your business, or you're "just curious".
