About the Role
The post-holder is expected to consistently demonstrate professional conduct and uphold behaviours that reflect and support Badger’s values at all times. We are excited to invite experienced General Practitioners (GPs) to join our growing Out of Hours clinical workforce across Birmingham and Solihull. Our clinicians deliver high-quality, urgent primary care working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.
Whether you are looking for sessions or occasional work to fit around your existing commitments, we offer self-employed opportunities across evenings, weekends and overnight services.
As a General Practitioner (GP), you will work autonomously to assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions within an urgent primary care setting. You will:
- Independently assess, examine, diagnose and treat patients of all ages.
- Deliver care via telephone consultations, face to face appointments and home visits.
- Prescribe safely.
- Make autonomous clinical decisions using advanced assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Recognise deteriorating patients and escalate appropriately.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective patient care.

Essential Requirements
- Holds current GMC registration and is not subject to any suspension or restriction that would prevent the provision of clinical services.
- Holds a recognised GP qualification and has successfully completed a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
- Registered as a General Practitioner on the GMC’s GP Register in accordance with the applicable UK regulatory requirements.
- Included on the relevant NHS England performers list without suspension or restriction.
- Holds satisfactory DBS clearance appropriate to the role.
- Participates in the NHS appraisal process and has completed an annual appraisal within the required timeframe.
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable using IT systems and Microsoft Office
