We are now looking for a Self-Employed Group Exercise Instructor to deliver engaging and motivating fitness classes across our venues.


The Role

We're seeking an energetic, customer-focused self-employed instructor to design and deliver high-quality group exercise sessions. Your role will include:

  • Planning and leading dynamic classes, such as HIIT, strength training, yoga, Pilates, spin, or dance fitness.
  • Adapting sessions to cater to varied fitness levels and individual needs while ensuring safety and compliance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Building client relationships to encourage long-term participation.
  • Staying up-to-date with fitness trends, techniques, and industry standards.
  • Managing your own business operations, including scheduling and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver diverse, inclusive, and engaging fitness sessions.
  • Ensure skilled delivery while adapting to participant needs.
  • Maintain high-level safety and professionalism in all classes.
  • Nurture a friendly, non-crispural environment for maximum participation.
  • Promote self-improvement while keeping up with best industry practices.
  • Engage independently in professional development and community growth.

Requirements

Core Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant fitness certifications, such as:
    • Level 2 or 3 Gym Instructor
    • Group Exercise Certification (equivalent accepted).
  • Public liability insurance (mandatory for self-employed work).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate diverse groups of various sizes and abilities.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • A deep passion for fitness and helping others reach their goals.

Desirable Additional Skills

  • Experience teaching multiple class formats (e.g., yoga, Pilates, HIIT).
  • An established client base or following to support uptake.
  • Proficiency in social media marketing to attract and retain clients.
  • Additional specialist certifications (e.g., prenatal/postnatal fitness or nutrition coaching).
