Role Description

As a self-employed Life Insurance and Mortgage Adviser at Tavistock Protect, you will remotely manage your own client portfolio, providing tailored advice on life insurance, protection products, and mortgage solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Generating and following up leads
  • Conducting fact-finds
  • Assessing client needs
  • Recommending appropriate insurance and mortgage products from Tavistock Protect’s extensive panel
  • Preparing and submitting mortgage and protection applications
  • Liaising with lenders and insurers
  • Maintaining accurate, compliant records

The role involves ongoing client relationship management, including policy reviews and updates, while actively growing your business through networking, referrals, and mortgage marketing activities. You will collaborate with the wider Tavistock team, making use of training, tools, and support, while enjoying the flexibility and autonomy of a self-employed, remote position.

  • Strong foundation in Finance and Financial Planning, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, client-friendly manner.
  • Experience and knowledge in Mortgages and Mortgage Marketing, including sourcing suitable products and promoting services to prospective clients.
  • CeMAP qualified (or working towards CeMAP) or an equivalent recognized mortgage advisory qualification.
  • Previous experience in life insurance, protection advice, or broader financial services is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with a client-centric approach.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote, self-employed capacity, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Comfort with digital tools and CRM systems, and adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Ambition to grow a sustainable advisory business, with a proactive attitude toward networking and continuous professional development.
