Mortgage PRO Sussex is an independent, whole-of-market mortgage and insurance brokerage based in Sussex, serving a diverse range of clients. The firm specializes in solutions for first-time buyers, home movers, and remortgage customers, as well as buy-to-let investors and Help to Buy arrangements. It also supports more complex needs, including contractors, clients with adverse credit, bridging loans, commercial finance, and self-build projects. As a flexible, client-focused brokerage, Mortgage PRO Sussex offers tailored advice and access to a broad panel of lenders and insurance providers, enabling self-employed brokers to build and grow their own portfolio.

Role Description

This is a self-employed, remote role for a Mortgage Broker. The role involves advising clients on suitable mortgage and insurance products, sourcing whole-of-market solutions, and managing cases from initial enquiry through to completion. Day-to-day tasks include:

The broker will maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide ongoing client support, including reviews and recommendations for remortgage and protection needs. The role also includes generating new business through networking, referrals, and proactive relationship-building.

Qualifications

  • Strong mortgage advisory skills, including experience with first-time buyers, home movers, remortgages, buy-to-let, and specialist cases (e.g., contractors, adverse credit, bridging, commercial, self-build).
  • Sound understanding of mortgage products, insurance solutions, affordability assessments, and lender criteria across the whole of market.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote, self-employed capacity, with strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Relevant mortgage advisory qualification (e.g., CeMAP or equivalent) and good knowledge of UK regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Comfortable with using digital tools and CRM systems for case management, documentation, and remote communication.
  • Previous experience in mortgage broking, financial advice, or a related financial services role is highly beneficial.
  • A proactive, ethical, and client-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant advice.
