Job title: Self Employed Personal Care Assistant (female* applicants only)
Location: Bournemouth BH11 area
(Sex Discrimination Act 7 (2) b (ii) applies)
Job Purpose
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About The Individual
A lady who has ADHD, autism, Crohn's disease and Colitis. She has two school-aged children and a small dog.
Rate of pay: As self-employed, please provide your rates with your application.
Hours Of Work
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 9.30am to 11.30am
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 5.30pm to 6.30pm
- Total: 9 hours per week
Main Duties
Personal Care and Daily Living Support
- Support with bathing or showering when required.
- Support with dressing where required.
- Assist with personal care tasks in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Support meal preparation, particularly evening meals.
- Help maintain daily routines and structure.

Domestic Duties
- Grocery shopping and collecting prescriptions.
- Cooking and serving nutritious meals and snacks.
- Cleaning, changing linen, laundry and other household tasks.
- Assisting with maintaining an organised and calm home environment.
Practical Support
- Take initiative in identifying tasks that need completing.
- Support with creating and maintaining routines and household organisation.
- Allow and protect recovery time when needed, recognising the importance of rest and reducing overwhelm.
These duties may vary from day-to-day
Qualities
Values: honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity or has a good sense of humour. Understanding of autism, ADHD, PDA traits, sensory needs, shutdowns and non-standard routines. Comfortable working within a neurodivergent household. A good listener and communicator.

Essential
Skills, qualifications and experience
- driving licence
- access to car and appropriate insurance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- good at building relationships
- Understanding of neurodiversity and the ability to work in a person-centred way.
Preferred
- likes dogs or other pets
- a good listener
Other Requirements
Essential:
- Provide evidence of self-employment such as Public Liability Insurance, Terms and Conditions, tax reference number.
- DBS Check will be required
- Legally Able to Work in UK
