Job Title: Self-Employed UPVC Newbuild Window & Door Installer Teams (Sub-Contractor Fitting Teams)

Location: Major newbuild developments across Bristol, Southampton, Manchester / Preston areas

Rate: Highly Competitive Price-Work Rates (Paid Fortnightly via CIS)

Status: Self-Employed / Sub-Contractor Teams

Job Purpose

We are seeking established, fully equipped, experienced Self-Employed UPVC Window & Door Installer Teams to take on ongoing, high-volume price-work contracts. Your team will be responsible for installing premium UPVC windows, composite doors, and aluminium Bi fold doors, across multiple major newbuild residential housing developments. We require self-sufficient teams who can deliver exceptional installation speeds, immaculate finishing, and flawless/professional snag-free handovers, while maintaining strict adherence to site safety standards across all sites contracted to work on.

Key Responsibilities

  • High-Volume Team Installation: Efficiently distribute tasks within your team to install UPVC windows, external composite doors, French doors, and Aluminium bi-fold doors into pre-prepared structural openings, within brick, cladding or render, either individual plot installs, or up to four-storey apartment builds.
  • Aperture Verification: Check brickwork openings against technical drawings and manufactured frame sizes prior to fixing to minimise delays and report discrepancies immediately.
  • Weatherproofing & Sealing: Execute professional internal perimeter sealing with expanding foam.
  • Glazing & Ironmongery Setup: Ensure to toe-and-heel double/triple-glazed units to ensure optimal weight distribution. Fit, adjust, and test all locks, handles, hinges, and restrictors for perfect operation before site handover.
  • Site Management & Safety: Work strictly in accordance with site Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). Maintain a clean, organised plot and collaborate effectively with UWS – Project manager /Site Managers to hit strict Plot completion dates.

Requirements & Qualifications (Per Team)

  • Experienced Team Dynamics: An established installation team (minimum 3 years of experience) with a proven track record specifically within high-volume newbuild housing or commercial construction.
  • CSCS Cards: Valid CSCS Cards are mandatory for all team members to gain site access (Blue Skilled -Worker card required as a minimum)
  • Transit & Tools: Must possess a reliable, clean commercial vehicle and a comprehensive suite of professional hand tools, alongside Pat - Tested -110v or cordless power tools suitable for site conditions.
  • Certifications: NVQ Level 2 in Fenestration/ SSSTS or valid GQA qualification level 3 in installation and surveying is highly desirable for the team, with the Black hat supervisor within the team, holding an SMSTS qualification.
  • Insurance: Active Public Liability Insurance (minimum £2 million or £5 million depending on the specific development contract).
  • Tax Compliance: All team members must hold a valid UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference) number and be registered under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).

  • Dedicated regional Project Manager to ensure plots are co-ordinated to be ready and cleared before your team arrives in preparation for handover to your team Black Hat supervisor in anticipation of install.
  • Plots will be stillage delivered direct to site, in most cases the glass will be delivered separately, but both will arrive on site prior to the booked install date, with a full lug - fixing pack/ protection/ accessories delivered at the same time as window/ door delivery.
