Freelance Consultancy Opportunities | London & Home Counties

Flexible Working | Remote & Site-Based | Competitive Hourly Rates

Arun Associates is seeking experienced freelance and consultant Building Surveyors to support our growing workload across Greater London and the Home Counties.

We are a well-established Chartered Building Surveying practice with a strong reputation for providing practical, professional advice within the residential sector. Due to increasing demand, we are looking to expand our network of trusted consultants who can assist on a flexible, project-by-project basis.

Typical Areas of Work

Our commissions regularly include:

  • Building pathology and defect diagnosis
  • Housing disrepair inspections and reporting
  • Residential building surveys
  • Schedules of condition
  • Contract administration and project delivery
  • Preparation of specifications and tender documentation
  • Budget cost estimates and planned maintenance advice
  • Licences for Alterations and leasehold residential matters
  • Party Wall matters (desirable but not essential)
  • Expert witness and litigation support work (desirable but not essential)

Who We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from Building Surveyors who:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in residential building surveying.
  • Are MRICS or FRICS qualified (preferred).
  • Have at least 3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Can confidently manage instructions independently from appointment through to completion.
  • Possess strong report-writing and communication skills.
  • Are comfortable dealing directly with homeowners, tenants, housing providers, block managers, managing agents, architects, contractors, solicitors, and insurers.
  • Are professional, organised, personable, and commercially aware.
