Job Title: SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Coordinator

Salary: £32,618 - £34,741 (Pro Rota £28,704 - £30,572)

0.88 FTE (36 hours over 38 weeks)

We are looking for an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Coordinator to join us at Tameside College!

About the Role

Here’s the standard bit: you will coordinate the development and delivery of targeted support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in line with the college’s SEND strategy, including managing a caseload. To focus on removing barriers to learning, ensuring inclusive and accessible education and monitoring student progress. To oversee learner’s journey from transition into college through to progression and next steps. To champion inclusive practices and promote support for students with SEMH needs. To ensure effective working relationships with student support and curriculum teams, providing a vital link in maximising funding and the impact of SEMH support.

What you’ll need

  • With some previous experience in supporting young people, you will have a sound understanding of the range of issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional and behavioural) and have an ability to motivate students with differing needs and abilities.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal skills in working with students, ability to remain calm and a problem solving approach to managing challenging situations.
