The Opportunity

Long Term Futures are seeking a resilient and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the CV21 area from September 2026.

This rewarding 1:1 role involves supporting two pupils throughout the school day. During the morning, you will work closely with a Year 3 pupil with SEMH and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), before providing dedicated support to a Year 5 pupil in the afternoon with similar needs.

A key focus of the role will be helping both pupils successfully reintegrate into the classroom, using consistent, relationship-based approaches to build trust, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning. You'll be joining a highly supportive school with an experienced leadership team and a collaborative staff culture committed to helping every child succeed.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil (morning) and Year 5 pupil (afternoon)
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and emotional wellbeing
  • Implement behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies
  • Support pupils with successful reintegration into the classroom following periods of dysregulation
  • Work closely with the class teachers, SENCO, and pastoral team to deliver consistent support
  • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence throughout the school day
  • Monitor progress and contribute to personalised support strategies

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
