SEMH Nurture Teacher - West London
Long-term to permanent contract, MPS Outer London £39,196 - £52,241, Full-time (term time only)

The pupil is calm again. The room is quiet. Everyone else has already moved on to their next lesson, their next thing. What happens to that moment, the one where you brought a Year 7 pupil back from the edge of a very bad day? Does it go anywhere? Does anyone ask what you noticed, or what you think the pupil needs next?
Most days, this role looks like a Teacher leading a small Year 7 SEMH group through a school day that prioritises regulation before it asks for anything academic. The pupils here carry Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs as their primary presentation, often alongside Autism and ADHD, and many arrive having already been let down by a system that moved faster than they could keep up with. Progress in this room rarely looks like a completed worksheet first. It looks like a pupil staying in the room, staying regulated, staying willing to try again tomorrow. That takes a particular kind of Teacher, one who has already done this work somewhere and knows exactly what it costs and what it gives back.

Pay sits on the MPS Outer London scale, M1 to M6, paid PAYE with full transparency on rate. The contract is long-term to permanent, with a genuine route to a permanent post for the right person. The school is looking for a September 2026 start.

Candidates need solid, direct experience teaching pupils with SEMH. This is not a role for learning the basics. Specialist school experience is welcomed but not required, and experience alongside co-occurring Autism or ADHD needs will strengthen any application.
