Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEMH) : Newton Abbot

Job Overview
Location: Newton Abbot, Devon
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: £92.56-95 per day dependant on experience.
Responsibilities
As a vital member of our support team, you will assist in the classroom to ensure every pupil is empowered to reach their full potential. Your responsibilities include:
- Supportive Learning: Assist in delivering a rich curriculum that promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental, and physical development of our pupils.
- Tailored Assistance: Provide support with personalised learning programs designed for pupils with specific learning difficulties and additional needs.
- Well-being and Self-Esteem: Foster positive attitudes, emotional well-being, and self-worth, helping pupils gain confidence and build independence.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Maintain positive working relationships with teachers, pupils' families, and external support agencies.
- Driving Outcomes: Work dedicated to enable meaningful educational and personal outcomes for every young person in our care.

Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate who embodies our commitment to safety and inclusion. You should possess:
- Relevant Experience Or Qualifications In Education Or Support Work.
- Proven experience working with pupils who have diverse learning, social, emotional, or mental health needs (SEMH / SEND).
- A passion for supporting creative, personalised learning that re-engages pupils with education.
- Exceptional safeguarding practice and a commitment to prioritising pupil safety and well-being.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work closely with multi-agency teams and families.
