What we are looking for:
- 4-5 years in practice experience.
- AAT Qualified and now studying ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
- Keen to develop technical knowledge, embrace new technology and assist with their implementation. (including AI tools).
- To act with due care and attention and ensure confidentiality is always applied.
- Experience with AI systems, Xero, QuickBooks, TaxCalc and Engager is desirable.
- You must be professional, proactive, have a positive mindset, be loyal, innovative, empathetic, and an excellent communicator.
What you’ll be doing:
Accounts and Tax Preparation
- Implementing and supporting the preparation of online accounting working papers in accordance with our Practice Framework and Accounting Standards and that all lead schedules agree to the accounts provided for review.
- Perform analytical reviews to identify risks, trends and insights that support the Director in delivering high-value client advice.
- Responsible for the drafting of all annual accounts for all types of trades including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Responsible for the production of tax computations for review by the Director.
- Knowledge of MTD ITSA would be beneficial.

Technical Knowledge
- Undertake the training requirements of the Practice to develop and progress your knowledge and skills.
- Integrate successfully with the team and provide effective support for other team members.
- Provide support for the more complex elements of the job.
- Knowledge of the current reporting legislation in respect of the accounting standards and to prepare disclosure checklists to ensure compliance. (FRS105 and FRS102(1a) required)
Client Communication and Workflow
- Prepare written communication to send to or verbally communicate with our clients to obtain information to complete the accounts preparation process and to deal with any queries raised.
- Meet the deadlines that are set by the Director in terms of the budget allocated to the assignment and being aware of any statutory deadlines that may be in force.
- Communicate regularly with the Director and update workflow management systems to show progress of work that has been allocated.
- Plus any additional tasks that support the smooth running of the practice.
