The Role
You will support a varied portfolio of clients and gain exposure to a broad range of accounts and tax work. Responsibilities will include:
- Client bookkeeping
- Preparation of company and partnership accounts, financial statements, interim management accounts, personal tax returns, and quarterly VAT returns
- Assisting with the management of client portfolios
- Contributing to the training and development of apprentices

Experience in company secretarial work, P11D preparation, and payroll would be advantageous but is not essential.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have at least 2–3 years' experience within an accountancy practice environment, with a strong understanding of accounts and tax processes. Experience using Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks, IRIS, MyWorkPapers, or BrightPay would be an advantage.
You should have:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- The ability to communicate confidently and professionally with clients both verbally and in writing
- A good telephone manner
- The ability to manage competing deadlines

Qualifications
You should be studying towards AAT, hold a relevant university degree, or be working towards a professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
