Job Opportunity for a Semi-Senior Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join a well-established independent accountancy practice and work with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, partnerships and limited companies. The role offers hands-on exposure across accounts, tax, VAT and client advisory work, making it ideal for someone looking to continue developing their career within practice.

Description

  • Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Prepare Corporation Tax computations and returns
  • Assist with personal and business tax matters
  • Prepare VAT returns and management accounts
  • Carry out bookkeeping and account reconciliations using cloud-based accounting software
  • Liaise directly with clients and respond to day-to-day queries
  • Support senior team members with client assignments and deadlines
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and in line with professional standards
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across a diverse portfolio

Profile

  • Ideally 2-4 years' experience within an accountancy practice
  • ACCA part-qualified, AAT qualified or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience preparing year-end accounts for a range of business entities
  • Good understanding of Corporation Tax and VAT
  • Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
  • Proactive and positive approach to work
  • Keen to continue learning and progressing within the profession
