Semi Senior Accountant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Semi Senior Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice in Middlesbrough. This role is ideal for someone with previous practice experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
- Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax, partnership tax, and self-assessment tax returns.
- Supporting bookkeeping activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Ensuring statutory filings are completed accurately and on time, including VAT, PAYE, CIS, and Companies House submissions.
- Managing client relationships and responding to day-to-day queries.
- Assisting with monthly client billing and monitoring outstanding invoices.
- Working closely with senior team members to ensure deadlines and client expectations are met.

About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing accounts and tax returns for a range of clients.
- A good understanding of UK accounting standards and tax compliance.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with bookkeeping and accounting software.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
