Semi-Senior Accountant

What you'll be doing

As a Semi-Senior Accountant, you'll work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, providing accounting, tax and business advisory support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements
  • Producing management accounts and financial reports
  • Preparing and submitting personal and corporate tax returns
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Analysing financial data and providing meaningful insights to clients
  • Reconciling accounts and reviewing ledgers for accuracy
  • Supporting bookkeeping activities, including VAT returns and bank reconciliations
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients when required
  • Assisting senior team members with portfolio management
  • Helping to support and mentor junior colleagues
  • Contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency and client service

What we're looking for

  • AAT Level 3 qualified (or above)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accountancy or finance role
  • Experience working within an accountancy practice environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and client relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A proactive attitude and genuine desire to continue learning and developing
