Role Description

The Semi Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Stafford Office. The individual will support the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, including posting journals, reconciling ledgers, and assisting with management accounts. The role will also involve:

  • Liaising with clients regarding queries, documentation, and deadlines
  • Contributing to advisory work
  • Supporting senior team members

The Semi Senior Accountant will be expected to:

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues
  • Maintain high professional standards
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes

Qualifications

  • Strong grounding in financial accounting, including preparation of statutory and management accounts, reconciliations, and journal postings.
  • Experience with tax-related work such as VAT returns, personal and corporate tax computations, and familiarity with current UK tax regulations.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Excel, including use of spreadsheets for analysis and reporting.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret financial data for business insights.
  • Effective communication and client service skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and build professional relationships.
  • Ability to organize workload, manage deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Part-qualified or working toward a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, ACA) is highly beneficial.
  • Prior experience in an accountancy practice environment and familiarity with a range of client sectors is an advantage.
