Streets Steele is a growing, forward-thinking firm of Chartered Accountants based in Bristol and part of the nationally recognised Streets Chartered Accountants group. Our team enjoys a collaborative, supportive environment with genuine opportunities for career progression. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Semi-Senior or Senior Accountant to join our Accounts & Tax team.

The Role

This role will primarily focus on the preparation of statutory accounts and Corporation Tax returns for a varied portfolio of limited company clients. For candidates joining at Senior level, the role will also include reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team and supporting their ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax returns and computations
  • Preparation of Personal Tax returns
  • Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
  • Preparing and submitting accounts to Companies House
  • Supporting clients with general accounting and taxation queries
  • Managing your own client portfolio and meeting deadlines
  • Senior role: Reviewing accounts and tax work prepared by junior team members, providing feedback and technical support

About You

Essential

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience working in a similar role within a UK accountancy practice
  • Previous UK practice experience is essential
  • Part-qualified ACA or ACCA (minimum requirement)
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts for limited companies
  • Experience preparing Corporation Tax returns
  • Good working knowledge of cloud accounting software (ideally Xero)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively
  • Positive, professional and client-focused approach

Desirable

  • Newly qualified ACA or ACCA (particularly for Senior level applicants)
  • Experience reviewing work completed by junior team members
  • Experience using TaxCalc (or similar accounts and tax software)
