WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for a Semi Skilled Engineer to join our Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) Services team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will be based on-site at various private clients and Scottish Water sites. You will support project delivery across WGM’s growing UK water-sector portfolio. This is a business-critical opportunity to join a growing engineering business delivering essential infrastructure across the UK.
As a Semi Skilled Engineer you will assist our Mechanical Engineers in delivering mechanical maintenance, refurbishment and new installation works including testing & pre-commissioning activities within the E&M business stream.

To support you in the role, you’ll be provided with a company van and fuel card, with a working pattern of 7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, and 7.30am to 1.00pm on Fridays.

Job Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll make an impact by:
- Maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical equipment for various private clients and Scottish Water sites.
- Assist with fault-finding and rectifying problems on a variety of mechanical equipment.
- Proactively assist works with strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.

Minimum Requirements
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Previous hands-on, practical experience in an engineering, mechanical, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, installation, workshop or similar environment.
- Experience in labouring, assembly, fitting, installation, maintenance or general mechanical work would be beneficial.
- Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools and carrying out practical tasks safely.
- Experience assisting skilled tradespeople, engineers, technicians or maintenance personnel.
- A practical understanding of how to assemble, dismantle, move, prepare or install components, equipment or machinery.
- Able to follow instructions and work from basic drawings, measurements or written procedures.
- Good practical problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new engineering techniques.
- Physically comfortable with a hands-on role, including handling tools, equipment and mechanical components.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work
- Valid Full UK driving licence is essential
Qualifications And Desirable Experience
The following would be helpful, but is not essential:
- Experience within the UK water/waste water sector

Salary And Benefits
We are offering a rate of £16.51 per hour (circa £32,194 per annum salary), depending on experience.
