Job Title
Our client is developing cutting-edge, next generation compound semiconductors, and is a leader within the North East’s emerging semiconductor cluster. They are now searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to provide manufacturing/industrial engineering expertise, using capacity modelling, data analysis and continuous improvement techniques to optimise WIP flow, cycle time, equipment utilisation, throughput and delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the fab capacity model, ensuring data accuracy and supporting equipment and staffing decisions.
- Analyse WIP, equipment availability, throughput and operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Perform capacity, cost and “what-if” analyses to support business and operational decisions.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting cycle time, production flow and delivery performance.
- Assess capacity requirements resulting from changes in product mix, process flows and business demand.
- Work with Engineering, Operations, Automation and Tool Owners to assess the impact of process and equipment changes.
- Conduct time studies and data analysis to evaluate process and throughput improvements.
- Support the introduction of new processes, methods and production flows.
- Estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards and recommend tooling/process requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methods.

Experience & Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in Semiconductor, Electronics or Automotive manufacturing, particularly in: Capacity modelling, Operations optimisation, Data analysis, Continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 3 years’ industry experience, or equivalent proven industry experience.
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred/required.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.
