SEN English Teacher - Sheffield

Are you a dedicated SEN English Teacher looking to inspire young people within specialist education settings across Sheffield?

Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting an SEN English Teacher to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a range of specialist SEN schools and provisions throughout Sheffield.

This SEN English Teacher opportunity is ideal for teachers with experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, speech and language needs, and additional learning difficulties. Working as an SEN English Teacher in Sheffield offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference while benefiting from the flexibility of supply teaching.

£145 - £220 per day (paid via PAYE, no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available)

About the Role

As an SEN English Teacher in Sheffield, you will deliver engaging English lessons tailored to pupils with a range of additional needs across specialist settings. Class sizes are typically smaller, allowing you to adapt lessons to individual learning styles while working alongside experienced support staff and therapists.

Working as an SEN English Teacher in Sheffield, you will help pupils build confidence in reading, writing and communication through creative and differentiated teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils' communication, literacy and personal development
  • Work alongside teaching assistants and multidisciplinary teams

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English within secondary education
  • Knowledge of Autism, SEMH, ADHD and other additional needs
  • Child and Adult Enhanced DBS Certificates (or willingness to obtain both)
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
