SEN Learning Support Assistant
Department: Recruitment – North Employment Type: Contract Location: Coventry, Warwickshire Compensation: £25.00 – £35.00 per hour

We are currently seeking Education Specialists to join our team in providing bespoke and holistic support to children and young people who have left mainstream education. If you’re passionate about supporting learners with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and want to make a daily impact, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to children and young people in their homes or a suitable public setting
- Deliver personalised, creative sessions tailored to each learner’s needs, interests, and abilities
- Monitor and report on student progress after each session, while setting clear, achievable targets to support ongoing development
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
Work on a flexible, bank staff contract (term-time only), with sessions typically lasting 3 to 5 hours during the school day.
Requirements
- Experience in working with SEN (e.g., autism, learning disabilities, SEMH—Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs) is essential
- Background in Early Years, Primary, Secondary, or Post-16 education, including experience from specialist SEND settings
- Advantageous experience includes:
- Makaton
- PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
- Behaviour support
- Advantageous experience includes:
- Minimum availability of 2 consistent weekdays
- Up-to-date understanding of safeguarding and child protection
