SEN Learning Support Assistant - Psychology Graduates
Location: Rochdale, Manchester
Salary: £13 - £15
Contract: Full time/ Part time (2-3 days)
Start Date: ASAP
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to build a career working with young people?
We are currently recruiting SEN Learning Support Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a supportive college environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for Psychology graduates who are interested in educational psychology, behaviour, mental health, autism, or SEND and want to gain valuable hands-on experience within education.
The Role
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SEN professionals to provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
Your Responsibilities May Include
- Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
- Supporting students with autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and other additional needs
- Helping pupils engage with learning and develop confidence and independence
- Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Implementing individual learning and support plans
- Using strategies to encourage communication, social skills and participation
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
- Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress
