Location: Liberty Woodland School, Morden
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Thursday
8:30am - 4:30pm (Term Time Only)
Contract: Permanent (with a three-month probation period)

Liberty Woodland School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
This is not simply a classroom support role. We are looking for someone who understands that every child learns differently and who can offer calm, consistent, and nurturing support throughout the school day. You will work alongside a child as they explore, learn, and grow, helping them build confidence, develop independence, and feel a genuine sense of belonging within our school community.

The Role
You will work closely with one pupil, supporting them throughout the school day both inside and outside the classroom. Your role will be to help them access learning, develop communication and social skills, regulate emotions, and participate fully in school life.
Working collaboratively with teachers, our SENDCo, and wider staff team, you will adapt your approach to meet the child's individual needs while encouraging independence wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities
Individual Pupil Support
- Provide consistent one-to-one support throughout the school day.
- Build a trusting, positive relationship that helps the child feel safe, understood, and confident.
- Support learning activities both in the classroom and during outdoor learning experiences.
- Encourage communication, independence, and positive interactions with peers.
- Help the child engage with lessons, routines, and transitions throughout the day.

Inclusive Learning

- Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to adapt learning where appropriate.

Relevant experience within schools, childcare, tutoring, care or support work, residential settings, or children's services would all be valued. Formal qualifications are welcomed but are less important than your experience, empathy, and commitment to supporting children.
An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and satisfactory references will be required.
