SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary | Cambourne, Cambridgeshire
Location: Cambourne, Cambridgeshire
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Start: 13/04/26
Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential to become permanent)
Hours: 08:30-15:30 (30 Minutes Break)
Pay: £14.30 - £19.00 p/hr (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
About The SEN Teaching Assistant Role
Inspire EHC are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire, who are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged learner with additional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference each day. You'll support one child throughout the school day, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships. Your Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a primary-aged learner with additional needs
- Adapt learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
- Promote emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour
- Build a trusting, supportive relationship with the learner
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, external professionals, and parents
- Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and child-centred learning environment

About You
We'd love to hear from you if you are:
- Patient, nurturing, and committed to helping children thrive
- Experienced in supporting children with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs (school or care experience welcomed)
- Able to use initiative while working as part of a supportive team
- Confident in building rapport and maintaining consistent boundaries
- Passionate about inclusive education and making a positive impact
