SEN Support Worker - Short Breaks & Holiday Provisions (Lewisham Borough)
£15.45-£16.53 per hour
Flexible shifts up to 7 days per week Weekly pay
A warm, inclusive and highly supportive network of short-breaks and holiday-club centres across Lewisham are seeking committed Support Workers to join their team. These settings provide safe, structured and engaging environments for children, young people and young adults with additional needs. Each centre offers weekend clubs, holiday programmes and flexible support sessions designed to give families respite and ensure young people receive high-quality, person-centred care.
About The Role
You will play a key part in delivering meaningful, enjoyable and safe experiences for children and young people with a range of needs. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking part-time, flexible work, including those available at short notice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to children and young people with additional needs
- Deliver personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect
- Support individuals to access activities, build confidence and develop independence
- Communicate clearly with staff, parents and carers to ensure consistent, responsive care
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour and health & safety procedures
- Work collaboratively with a wider team to create a positive, nurturing environment

What We're Looking For
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young adults with additional needs
- Care background desirable, but not essential if you are compassionate, patient and proactive
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- Minimum Grade C/Level 4 in GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
- Degree desirable
- Flexible, reliable and able to respond quickly to changing needs
- Strong communication skills and an adaptable, calm approach
