Randstad Education Leeds supports SEND teaching assistants in finding suitable long-term placements across the Trust network in South Yorkshire. Operating across Sheffield, Rotherham, and Doncaster, Astrea primary schools focus on inclusive education, offering structured support networks, sensory spaces, and dedicated SEND Cos to assist classroom support staff.

- Provide dedicated 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with diverse needs such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH.
- Implement structured individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the class teacher and SENDCo.
- Assist in adapting classroom materials and activities to make the curriculum fully accessible.
- Foster emotional regulation, resilience, and independence through positive reinforcement and praise.
- Supervise pupils during transition times, breaks, and sensory room sessions to ensure safety.
Requirements for the Role
- Practical experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEND), within school, care, or youth settings.
- A compassionate, patient, and highly adaptable approach to managing sensory and behavioural needs.
- Good foundational qualifications (GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics).
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one).
- Excellent communication and team-working skills.
