SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £108 - £110 per day

About The Role And School

We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets from September. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is a fixed-term opportunity until July and will involve supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, both within the classroom and through targeted one-to-one and small group interventions.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to help pupils access learning, build confidence and make excellent progress. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.

This SEN Teaching Assistant position is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting children with SEND who is looking to make a real difference within a supportive mainstream primary school.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Support the implementation of EHCP strategies
  • Promote positive behaviour and pupil engagement
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development

Qualifications/Experience

  • Previous experience working with SEND pupils is essential
  • Experience within a primary school is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
