Job Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistants in Barnsley
Are you dedicated to making a difference for pupils with additional educational needs? Are you looking for flexible SEN supply work across Barnsley schools? Want to join a leading education agency offering continuous training and great pay?
Randstad Education is seeking compassionate, resilient, and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistants for short-term, long-term, and day-to-day supply roles in Barnsley. You will be working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
Key Requirements
- UK SEN Experience: Hands-on experience supporting children with special educational needs within a UK school, specialist provision, or care/youth setting.
- Specialist Strategies: Experience in using visual timetables, sensory breaks, PECS, Makaton, or de-escalation techniques is highly advantageous.
- Adaptable Approach: A patient, calm, and proactive nature to support emotional regulation and tailor learning tasks to individual education plans (IEPs).
- DBS and Vetting: An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or readiness to undertake one).
- Work Authorisation: Full right to work in the UK.
