Our School
Our school is based on a beautiful 84-acre site in Barrowmore, rural Cheshire. We offer up to 20 places for students aged 7 to 19 years of age. The school is an incredible place for children who have complex needs arising from autism, behavioural and learning difficulties to thrive, learn new skills, grow in confidence, and make new friends. Our dedicated staff provide first class support. The education, health, care, and therapy teams work in partnership, and we pride ourselves on having strong relationships in place with parents, carers and funders. This tried and tested approach ensures every iMap student reaches their optimum level of achievement.

Due to growth, we have an exciting opportunity for qualified teachers! As an SEN Primary Teacher, you will deliver engaging and personalised learning programmes to students aged 7-11 with autism and additional learning needs. You will work closely with therapists, support staff and families to ensure every student achieves success academically, socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal, you will be responsible for:
- Delivery of teaching and learning to a small group of students with Autism, associated challenging behaviour and other learning difficulties, whilst demonstrating proven experience of delivering the national curriculum.
- Implementing strategies for raising achievement and having knowledge of working with accreditation boards such as ASDAN and being committed to your further professional development.
- Helping young people with their learning.
- Supporting pupils to make progress against their EHCP targets.
- Safeguarding and protecting our pupils.
- Raising attendance, attainment, and achievement.
- Working alongside our pupils and help support their learning and life skills.
- Creating a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning, independence and wellbeing.
- Developing pupils' literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills through creative and personalised teaching approaches.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation through a child-centred approach.
- Leading and contributing to annual reviews, reports and parent meetings as required.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience teaching children or young people with SEND.
- Experience Teaching Within a Primary Setting.
- Understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
- Experience supporting children with SEND and diverse learning needs.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate learning strategies.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
- Strong organisational and IT skills.
- QTS/NQT or equivalent, or Level 3 Teaching Award.
- Good interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively in a team of people and agencies.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate knowledge of: Current Disability/SEN theory and practice particularly linked to Autism.
- Full UK Driving licence.
- Experience working with autistic learners.
- Knowledge of ASDAN or alternative accreditation pathways.
- Experience working within a specialist SEND school.
