SEN Teacher: KS3 Complex Needs (ASC / SLD / PMLD)

Location: Lewisham, Inner London (Sydenham)

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: MPS / UPS + SEN Allowance (Inner London)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent / Long-term

A fantastic, thriving SEN school in Sydenham is seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Teacher to lead a vibrant Key Stage 3 class starting this September.

The Role

  • Design and deliver a creative, adapted curriculum tailored to students' individual learning and EHCP goals.
  • Focus on functional life and work skills to prepare students for adulthood.
  • Track progress through continuous assessment and work alongside speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain positive behaviour management strategies while fostering a safe, encouraging classroom atmosphere. (This opening has arisen due to the current teacher relocating after a successful tenure.)

What We're Looking For

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs (ASC, SLD, PMLD).
  • Strong understanding of SEN pedagogy, communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton), and positive behaviour support.
  • A creative, resilient, and upbeat approach to teaching.
