SEN Teacher

Secondary Complex Needs School

Walthamstow, East London

£850 - £1,350/week

Long Term | September Start

We are working with one of the largest and most highly regarded special schools in Europe, an Outstanding-rated school in Walthamstow with an international reputation for expertise, curriculum innovation, and professional development. With a deeply rooted commitment to enjoyment, achievement, and wellbeing for all, this is a school where every pupil has a personalised learning pathway and every teacher is genuinely valued.

This is a long-term opportunity starting in September, supporting secondary-aged pupils aged 11-19 with Autism and complex communication needs, in a school that has built its entire culture around helping young people grow, communicate, and thrive.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with Autism and complex learning needs
  • Supporting the development of communication, independence, and life skills across the curriculum
  • Writing and reviewing EHCPs and personalised learning plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
  • Creating a structured, nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel safe and motivated
  • Working alongside therapists, support staff, and families to ensure the best outcomes for every pupil

What We're Looking For

  • QTS and experience teaching in a special or SEN school setting
  • Confidence working with pupils with Autism and complex communication needs at secondary level
  • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential and grow in independence
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
  • A collaborative team player who reflects the school's values of enjoyment, achievement, and wellbeing
