About the Company
A specialist SEN school in Islington is looking for a patient, resilient and engaging SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs.
About the Role
Are you a Teaching Assistant, Graduate or Young People Worker looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference? This is a role for someone who understands that progress isn't always just about grades. For some pupils, getting into the classroom, communicating effectively, managing emotions, building confidence and developing independence can be just as important.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism and communication needs
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support in lessons
- Help pupils stay engaged, focused and ready to learn
- Adapt activities and resources to suit individual needs
- Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Build positive relationships with pupils who may find school challenging
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team
- Support pupils both academically and personally throughout the school day

Qualifications
A recent Graduate considering a career in education
Required Skills
- An experienced SEN Teaching Assistant
- A mainstream TA looking for a specialist setting
- A Young People Worker, Sports Coach or Support Worker
- Someone with experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- Personality, patience and ability to build trust
- Calm, consistent, proactive and genuinely want to help young people make progress

- Years of SEN experience (not essential but beneficial)
