Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hemlock Stone School, Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, NG9 8GA
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

We're looking for compassionate, enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistants to join our brand-new specialist school, supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing team from the very beginning, helping to shape an exceptional learning environment where pupils feel safe, understood and empowered to achieve their full potential.
Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and pastoral professionals, you'll provide the encouragement, structure and care that enables every child to thrive—both in the classroom and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, adapting learning to meet individual needs.
- Encourage communication, independence, emotional regulation and confidence through positive relationships.
- Assist teachers in delivering creative, engaging and personalised lessons.
- Support pupils during classroom learning, breaktimes, enrichment activities and educational visits.
- Help create a calm, structured and nurturing environment where every pupil feels safe, valued and ready to learn.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and families to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
- Celebrate every success, helping pupils develop the skills they need both in school and in everyday life.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of every child and young person.

About Us
Hemlock Stone School in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire opened in March 2026, and caters for up to 66 pupils, providing a specialist learning environment for young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Complex Needs.
For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
