Teaching Assistant - SEND
Linq Recruitment is working on behalf of a specialist education provider to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people, supporting both their educational progress and personal development within a specialist learning environment.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to support students with complex learning needs, autism, communication difficulties, and associated challenges. You will help deliver engaging learning activities, encourage independence, and support pupils in achieving their individual targets.

- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students.
- Assisting teachers with the delivery of planned lessons and activities.
- Supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Helping to create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Monitoring and recording student progress.
- Supporting students during community-based learning activities, educational visits, and work experience placements.
- Assisting with classroom preparation, learning resources, and administrative tasks.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, care staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Supervising students throughout the school day, including transitions, breaktimes, dining areas, and off-site activities where required.
We're Looking For
Individuals who:
- Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN, education, care, or support setting.
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Are patient, resilient, and adaptable.
- Can build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Possess strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Are comfortable supporting students both within the classroom and out in the community.
- Are willing to undertake behaviour support and safeguarding training.
