SEN Teaching Assistant - SEN Provision
Location: Stalybridge
Salary: £110+ per day, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term
Educato Recruitment are currently recruiting for an engaging and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist provision attached to a primary school in Stalybridge.
The provision supports children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who require additional support with their learning, communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
About The Children
The provision supports pupils with a range of needs, including:
- Speech, language and communication needs
- Moderate learning difficulties
- Autism / ASD
- Social, emotional and mental health needs
- Physical and developmental needs
- Communication and interaction difficulties
- Additional complex learning needs
The provision has been developed to provide additional specialist places for children with EHCPs and offers a more personalised approach to learning and support.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider team to provide consistent, personalised support.

Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
- Helping pupils access differentiated learning
- Supporting speech, language and communication
- Developing social and interaction skills
- Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Helping pupils manage routines and transitions
- Encouraging independence and confidence
- Supporting individual EHCP outcomes
- Using appropriate communication and visual strategies
- Supporting positive behaviour and engagement
- Working alongside teachers and specialist staff
- Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning
The school uses a trauma-informed and relational approach, so building positive relationships and understanding the individual needs of each child is an important part of the role.

Experience working with SEN, speech and language needs, ASD, SEMH or learning difficulties would be highly desirable.
Experience as a SEN TA, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Care Worker or similar will also be considered.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- SEN experience desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Two suitable references
- Right to work in the UK
- Commitment to safeguarding children
