Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD)
Location: Lewisham, London
Pay: £90 – £100 per day
Contract: Full-time | Long-term temporary
Start Date: 8 September 2026
Transparency Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) for a long-term primary school position in Lewisham. This role is particularly suited to an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who has supported children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and understands the importance of consistency, communication, and individualized support.
The Role
You will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD and additional needs.
- Help pupils access classroom learning and make progress towards individual targets.
- Use clear routines, visual support, and structured learning strategies where appropriate.
- Support communication, interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Encourage independence and positive engagement with learning.
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff.
- Monitor pupil progress and share relevant observations with the wider team.

Requirements
- Previous experience supporting pupils with ASD/SEND.
- Good understanding of autism and individualized approaches to learning.
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with visual timetables, communication strategies, or sensory support is advantageous.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant/SEND qualification desirable.
- Right to work in the UK.
Pay is determined based on candidate qualifications and experience.
