SEN Teaching Assistant - Brent

We are looking for a caring and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school based in Brent.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs. The school are looking for a calm, patient and proactive SEN TA who can help pupils feel safe, supported and confident in their learning.

Role Details

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Brent
  • Pay: £100-£117 per day
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Work with students on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Help pupils stay engaged, focused and confident throughout the school day
  • Support communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Assist the class teacher with learning activities, resources and classroom routines
  • Encourage independence, social skills and personal development
  • Help create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people
  • SEN experience is highly desirable
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Confidence supporting pupils with different learning needs
  • Experience in a school, care, youth work, nursery or support setting is desirable
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
