Long:Term Opportunities
- For those seeking stability and the chance to build meaningful relationships with pupils, we offer placements spanning a term or a full academic year. In these roles, you will become a key part of the students daily routine, supporting their long:term developmental, social, and academic targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small:group support to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe or Moderate Learning Difficulties (SLD/MLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or physical disabilities.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing personalised Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and adapting learning materials.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs, and positive behaviour management using calm, consistent strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interaction during both structured lessons and break times.
- Assist with alternative communication tools (such as PECS or Makaton) and visual timetables where required.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and visiting therapists to monitor and report on student progress and well:being.

What We Look For
- Previous experience supporting children or young adults with special educational needs (in schools, care, support work, youth work, or personal environments).
- A patient, resilient, and compassionate nature with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build quick, trusting rapport with pupils.
- Knowledge or training in SEN interventions, de:escalation methods, PECS, Makaton, or moving and handling is highly desirable (though not essential).
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
