SEN Teaching Assistant Halifax

Location: Halifax

Contract: Full-time (term-time only)

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: GBP95 - GBP110 per day (dependent on experience)

About The Role

We are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Halifax. In this role, you will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties, helping them engage in lessons, develop confidence, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive, positive learning environment
  • Help implement EHCP targets and tailored support plans
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development
  • Adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Foster a safe, supportive and encouraging atmosphere

About You

  • Experience working with children with SEN (school or care setting)
  • Calm, patient and resilient with a nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
  • Able to build positive and trusting relationships
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
