SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH & ADHD)

Location: Bexley, South East London
Pay: £90 - £100 per day
Job Type: Full-Time | Long-Term Temporary
Start Date: September 2026

Salary is based on experience and qualifications. Higher rates apply to candidates with significant experience and/or qualifications.

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and ADHD? Do you have the patience, resilience and enthusiasm to help pupils overcome barriers to learning?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bexley is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support for pupils with SEMH and ADHD from September.

The Role

You'll work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide both 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils regulate emotions, build confidence and engage positively in learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and ADHD across the primary age range.
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans.
  • Encouraging positive relationships and emotional wellbeing.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and differentiated learning.
  • Monitoring progress and communicating effectively with staff and parents.

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH, ADHD or additional needs.
  • A calm, patient and consistent approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Experience in UK schools is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education.
