A welcoming and supportive primary school in Camborne is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their experienced team. The Role
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs, ensuring they are fully supported throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions to support learning and development
- Assisting class teachers in adapting activities to meet individual pupil needs
- Supporting pupils with communication, social skills, and emotional wellbeing
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in classroom activities
- Helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence
- Following individual education plans and implementing agreed support strategies
- Monitoring pupil progress and reporting observations to teaching staff
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals
- Providing personal care support where necessary, maintaining dignity and respect
- Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

About You
We are seeking an individual who:
- Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Education, Childcare, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a related discipline
- Has previous experience working with children with SEN, either in schools or similar settings
- Demonstrates patience, understanding, and a child-centred approach
- Has knowledge of SEND practices and effective behaviour support strategies
- Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills
- Is adaptable, proactive, and committed to supporting individual pupil needs
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
