Job title: SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH – Lewisham

Location: Lewisham, London

Salary: £93 - £105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.

Start date: 9 November 2026

Contract: Full time, temporary, long term.

Sometimes the most useful support is helping a child approach the next part of the day with a little more confidence. Transparency Education is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant in Lewisham to work with pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

You will support learning, friendships and everyday routines, using strategies agreed with teaching and pastoral staff. This opportunity suits someone who listens carefully, keeps boundaries clear and understands that progress can take time.

Responsibilities

  • Help pupils prepare for lessons, transitions and less structured periods.
  • Support individual targets through classroom activities and planned check-ins.
  • Encourage pupils to identify feelings and use agreed coping strategies.
  • Model respectful communication and help children practise positive interactions.
  • Record useful observations and share concerns promptly with the appropriate staff.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
