Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 assistance for primary pupils with special educational needs (e.g. ASC, SEMH, SLD).
- Help execute Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets under the guidance of the SENDCo.
- Modify daily learning tasks to match pupil ability and promote independent learning.
- Maintain a structured, calming environment to help pupils manage sensory processing and anxiety.
- Record key achievements and feedback directly to the class teacher and pastoral leads.
Requirements for the Role
- Direct experience supporting young learners with special educational needs.
- A patient, warm, and highly resilient personality with strong adaptive skills.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or readiness to complete one).
- Excellent communication and team-player abilities.
